Hiring: Public Relations + Social Media Intern

Job Overview:

We are seeking a no-excuses, self-starter to join our team as a Part-Time Remote Public Relations + Social Media Intern. This opportunity offers the chance to gain genuine hands-on experience in PR and social media while contributing to meaningful projects for our fast-paced, start-up company. This is the kind of role where you won’t merely be observing or helping, but you will be responsible for campaigns and initiatives. As an intern, you will work closely with our Founder & CEO who has started and owned six different businesses over the course of 30+ years. You must be comfortable with our vertical of sexual wellness.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Development and Execution: Work closely with the team to further develop our strategy for PR and social media. Be responsible for executing the strategy.

  2. PR List Creation & Maintenance: Develop a media list and maintain that list for accuracy.

  3. Content Creation: Assist in the development of press releases, blog posts, and social media content to promote company news, events, and announcements.

  4. Press Outreach: Conduct outreach to journalists, bloggers, and influencers for media coverage and partnership opportunities.

  5. Social Media Management: Contribute to managing and curating content for our company's social media channels. This is mostly Instagram right now but may include other platforms.

  6. Create a bank of social media content that can be used by our distribution partners.

  7. Analytics and Reporting: Assist in analyzing PR and social media campaign performance metrics and preparing reports to measure the effectiveness of various outreach efforts.

  8. Media Monitoring: Keep track of news articles, press releases, and relevant industry trends to maintain a comprehensive media database.

Requirements:

  1. Enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant degree program (e.g., Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields).

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work with ChatGPT or other LLMs for content creation.

  3. Proficiency with social media platforms and content creation from writing copy to creating imagery (videos, photos, graphics).

  4. Experience with media relations principles and practices.

  5. Proficiency in using digital tools, such as Google Workspace and Canva.

  6. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  7. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  8. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Can-do attitude and ability to use your resources to figure out how to do projects you may not have ever done.

Duration and Compensation:

This is a part-time, remote internship position with a minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week. Opportunity to expand the role based upon success. Compensation is based on experience.
